Marketing Assistant

Visit Kent, Visit Herts and their parent company Go To Places, are responsible for supporting and growing the tourism industry in Kent, Hertfordshire and other destinations, through outstanding marketing campaigns, expert advice, robust research and funding know-how.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to provide efficient and effective support to all team members across all channels and campaigns.

Reporting to: Digital Content Manager

Purpose of the role: The Marketing Assistant works within the Creative Digital and Marketing team to provide efficient and effective support to all team members across all channels and campaigns. Other ad-hoc duties accompany the post and as required.

Key Accountabilities

  • Weekly updates of content on the Visit Kent and Visit Herts consumer websites and ancillary sites when required, including the addition of events, updates to listings, and the creation of features and campaign content.
  • Daily delivery of Visit Kent and Visit Herts social media across all channels, including creating posts, scheduling content and engaging with followers
  • Support the team to execute consumer competitions across all channels
  • Input into the Authors Group with ideas and support where necessary
  • Create features and web content in line with the content schedule for Visit Kent and Visit Herts
  • Source content for e-newsletters and website content under guidance from the Marketing Managers
  • Manage the upkeep and general handling of the Visit Kent and Visit Herts image library
  • Arrange meetings (booking rooms, organising attendance and producing minutes)
  • Manage the enquiries email accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of press visits, press releases, itinerary planning and booking arrangements
  • Assist in the preparation of influencer activity, itinerary planning and booking arrangements
  • Support the Marketing Team with their delivery of marketing campaigns, including involvement with PR and Digital activity as and when required
  • Support the Marketing Team by representing Visit Kent and Visit Herts at key functions, including consumer exhibitions and B2B networking events
  • Develop positive working relationships with key Visit Kent and Visit Herts marketing partners, as well as suppliers and external consultants / contractors

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The job holder should have a good standard of education, ideally to A-Level standard or equivalent. 

Relevant skills should also include:

  • A keen interest in contributing to a dynamic and highly creative marketing team
  • Good understanding of Digital media and content creation processes
  • Good administrative skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • Excellent levels of numeracy and literacy
  • Good computer literacy & Keyboard Skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook essential

Good time management skills and attention to detail.
